The Softball team had a day filled with action on Saturday as the Eagles competed in the Cleats vs Cancer Tournament at Mishawaka Marian HS Up first for the Lady Eagles were the Buchanan Bucks. It took extra innings to decide, but Adams fell just short in the exciting game 4-3 Despite the loss, Adams outhit Buchanan. Julia McNellis and Abby Kadar both had 2 hits apiece. Adams tied the game up in the sixth inning thanks to a double from Kadar which would force extra innings. The Eagles got the early lead in the eighth inning. McNellis doubled to drive a run in and would then score on the next play on a Bucks error. Up next for Adams was Living Water Homeschool. It was another close game, but Adams lost to the Marlins 2-1. It was a strong game for both pitchers and Adams gave up their only 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Adams defeated the Bobcats 11-6. The bats came alive for the Eagles, collecting 11 hits in the game. Alivia Redman led the team with 3 hits, 4 runs batted in, 2 stolen bases, and a homerun. It took a few innings to get going, but Redman finally did in the fourth with a double to score the first two runs of the game. Redman would go on to score on an error on the next play. Audreyanna Gizzi would add another run, scoring on a passed ball. A flyout from Julia McNellis added a run in the fifth. Singles from Claire McNally and Mackenzie Miller added runs in the 6th and a double from Kaylee O”Brien added 2 more runs.
